I am a registered member of the Complementary Medical Association (the world’s leading natural healthcare association), a Designated Certified Hypnotist with the International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy and am fully insured.
I work in Bristol, UK and online with clients from all over the world.
I have had a 32-year on and off relationship with ME/CFS. At first I was more or less bed-bound and house-bound for two years or so, unable to tolerate light or noise, locked in my own psyche. I was diagnosed, after two and a half years of awful suffering and confusion, in 1993. I changed my life circumstances as soon as I was able to, and staggered along for another few years before making an incomplete recovery. After that incomplete recovery, I had another serious relapse in 2004 and lost another year of functioning before making another hard won and slow recovery. From about 2007 onwards, I no longer chose to speak about myself as having ME/CFS and, while I was careful about certain things, I was highly capable and productive at work as an academic. I was running an international academic journal, running an international network, teaching students, publishing research, and was successfully holding down my life. In 2016, however, I suffered another serious relapse due to workplace structural issues. That began a very determined quest to heal completely, once and for all.
That determination took me into health optimisation science, into taking my studies in spirituality and psychology even deeper, and inspired me to go even deeper into my own psychotherapeutic journey. It also took me into training as a therapeutic coach, hypnotist, NLP practitioner and more besides.
- I continue to ‘dance’ with viral susceptibility, but I have done incredibly deep inner healing work and it is here, in this deeper domain, that I now focus my offering to others.
- I am passionate about inner evolution and awakening in the service of wellbeing for individuals and for the wider community of those of us living on this beautiful, tired planet at this point in 21st century history.
- I plan to combine my healing work with ongoing academic research in ‘thinking-with-fatigue’ as a way of imagining and practicing renewing ways of living and being, individually and collectively.
- I am deeply passionate about innovative thinking and ways of being, and committed to facilitating deep personal and collective evolution.
